Weight loss releases the stored toxins and exposes one's system to the harmful side effects of the specific toxin. This is why slow weight loss has the least harmful impact on one's body. I would be wary of weight loss measures that recommend concurrent treatments to flush toxins (i.e., niacin, massage, etc). I suppose younger patients would not be as sensitive and vulnerable to the damage such toxins impose. 2nd - Niacin supplements are also recommended for reducing cholesterol. I tried Niacin for two weeks and spent several wakeful nights due to burning ears, burning genitals, and with the last dose I became so ill I thought I needed to go to the hospital. At first I thought I had food poisoning and was going to erupt from both ends simultaneously but then I saw my body was completely sunburned like a really bad sunburn (as red and painful as that). I went into a cold bathtub and remained there for an hour until I was shaking from head to toe and crawled, wet, back into bed exhausted. My ankles and legs itched like nothing I've ever experienced. I was moaning I was in such distress. I read later to take benadryl for the crazy intense itching (didn't think of it at the time was too out of it) and NOT to eat any chocolate or products with it. I've never heard of Narcanon, so thank you for the insight. Niacin is however a widely accepted fat oxidizer that is why we recommend it.
