Rachael Ray Features The Zerona Laser Lipo
I had a bunch of patients asking me if I saw the Rachael Ray show a few weeks ago… finally I did just yesterday.
Here is the video for you to see it if you have yet to watch it…
People asked me if I liked it… then they were at first surprised by my response.
Look, it’s great that more people are learning about Zerona. How safe it is – completely. How effective it is – research shows an impressive 3.5 inches on average to the waist/hip/thighs combined without breaking a sweat or diet. How easy it is – you just lay there. How affordable it is – between $2000 to $3000, a small fraction of liposuction.
But what I didn’t like was the little phrase that the doctor on the show said that was left unaddressed by Ms. Ray.
Watch the show again… listen for what is said when she asks about the cost.
The doctor’s response was some thing to the effect of “The cost of the treatment for 6 sessions is between $2,000 to $3,000… In my office we charge $1800. and for those that do not lose 3 inches we give them a credit of $1000 toward a different procedure such as liposuction.”
There are a few things I have issue with…
FIRST. Why is the doctor charging less than what all of the doctors have be asked to charge? Why is it only $1800? What are they not getting with that care?
SECOND. If the patient fails to get results, it is great that the office is offering something…. BUT… $1000 credit to a different procedure such as liposuction?! Ok now lets discuss this a bit more.
I wonder how many people in that office fail to get 3 inches. I also wonder how much it cost for liposuction to be performed at that doctor’s office. I wonder it financially it is more advantageous for the office to not get results, then to perform a surgical procedure on some of those patients. (I think in business that is called a “lost leader” – that being something that the business loses money on in the hope that they will make the real money on other products or services.)
I think what bugs me is this: what is the incentive for that doctor to get the BEST Zerona results without surgery?
Look, like I said, at least this doctor is offering something for those that don’t get average results… but I wonder what is being done to help patients get the best results on the ZERONA. Period.
I have come to learn that not all Zerona offices are the same.
In fact, I am learning that those offices that accept everyone and give minimal nutritional support are getting less than average results more often. I’m afraid that is going to create much disappointment out there… and that affects my practices.
I don’t mean to be the one pointing out the negative but I don’t want people so mesmerized by all the great things on the Rachael Ray show that they miss some details.
I’d rather point it out than someone else… you with me?
I hope this blog strikes a nerve among my doctor blog subscribers… I’d love to hear from you.
Blessings,
Dr. Troy Don DC QME
If you have not already subscribed to my posts you can do that on the right. Also, for more information or a Zerona consultation, please give one of my offices a call.

Dear Frances,
So sorry for the late reply… we have had some “technical difficulties” with the Email notification system.
I’ve treated many 65+ patients with excellent results. It was actually a demographic I didnt expect to see much of.
Blessings,

Is there an age limit to which this procedure would not work or benefit someone? I’m asking this question as I am 70 and don’t want to waste anybody’s time pursuing this..
thank you for your time
